Wallace A. Bacon Lifetime Teaching Excellence Award
The National Communication Association is currently soliciting nominations for the Wallace A. Bacon Lifetime Teaching Excellence Award. This honor recognizes outstanding teaching by: 1) retired NCA members from any grade level from kindergarten through graduate school; 2) NCA members who are not currently engaged in full-time teaching; and/or 3) NCA members who have demonstrated a long term commitment to teaching. The recipient will receive a plaque and will serve on the award selection committee the following year.
Nominations must include the following:
- a cover letter stating why the person should be recognized by the association for distinguished teaching
- the nominee's vita or resume
- letters of recommendation from three (3) persons familiar with the nominee’s qualifications
- additional documentation of teaching excellence
Nomination materials must be sent as a Microsoft Word or PDF attachment to Candice Thomas-Maddox (Award Committee Chair) via email at thomas@ohiou.edu.
Deadline for nominations is April 1, 2015.
