ECA - Message for Instructional Communication IG

Hello all,
During the last ECA conference, a Diversity and Inclusion Task Force was assembled by the Executive Council in order "to identify and recommend best practices for promoting the inclusion of diverse members of the ECA community and to expand that community. Diversity, in this sense, includes various demographic factors (race, ethnicity, age, sex, sexuality, etc.) but also differences within the academic community such as institution type (community college, two-year campuses, regional campuses, four year programs) and academic employment type (to include faculty, adjunct faculty and emeriti)". One of the outcomes of this meeting is the planning of a round-table discussion for this year's conference that is dedicated to examining diversity and inclusion concerns that some of the interest groups may have or even as individuals within those groups. You are receiving this email as an interest group planner with the hopes that you might be able to select one member of your interest group to collect any group-related or individually-based concerns and bring them to the round-table forum scheduled at our annual convention. The hope at this time is to have those individuals representing the interest groups to be identified in the conference program as participants.
Here is our request, please nominate one person to take part in this round-table forum and respond to this email by Monday, February 19th with their name and institution. Their task will be to collect any concerns that the interest group or individuals within the interest group may have and bring those to the round-table forum scheduled at our annual convention . Here is the panel, date, and time:
