ECA - Argumentation and Forensics Interest Group Election

Dear ECA Argumentation and Forensics Interest Group Members,

Due to extenuating circumstances caused by the current COVID-19 pandemic, we need to elect new officers for our interest group remotely rather than during our regular, in-person business meeting. This email provides a description of the open positions and the procedures through which the election will be completed.  

• Vice Chair: This person will serve as Vice Chair at the at the 2021 ECA Convention in Cambridge, MA; serving as Chair and interest group planner of the 2022 ECA Convention in Buffalo. 
• Secretary: This person will serve as Secretary at the 2021 ECA Convention in Cambridge, MA.
• Interest Group Representative to ECA Executive Council: This person will represent the Interest Group on ECA’s Executive Council. The term will begin at the midpoint of the 2021 ECA Convention through and end at the midpoint of the 2023 ECA Convention. In other words, this person will be expected to stay through the end of the 2021 Convention in Cambridge, attend the full duration of the 2022 Convention in Buffalo, and be present for the very beginning of the 2023 Convention.

If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else for one or both of these positions, please email Interest Group Secretary Robert J. Green (rgreen@bloomu.edu) with your nomination. Your email should include the name of the nominee, the institution the nominee represents, an email address for the nominee, and the position(s) for which you are nominating them.

Nominations will Close at 5PM on Friday, April 10, 2020. On Saturday, April 11, 2020, you will receive further instructions on how to report your vote. Polls will close at 11:59PM on Monday, April 13, 2020.
