Speakers Needed - 2027 ECA Convention Communication Administration Interest Group
Communication Administration members,
We are just about 2 weeks out from the submission deadline for ECA 2027, Full Circle, in Reston, Virginia.
I am the division planner for Communication Administration, and I am writing with a few (time-sensitive) asks.
- Please email at brittll@jmu.edu if you are willing to be a reviewer.
- Send in a submission for our division. At the business meeting in Pittsburgh, we mentioned several topics members would be interested in having sessions on. Could you contribute to a session on any of these topics? Organize a session on any one of these topics? Know anyone who would be a great panelist? Encourage them to submit or pass along their contact information to me.
Some of the topics we brainstormed were: Emotional/Invisible Labor of Being an Administrator, Navigating the Evaluation process, Financial Communication/Budgeting, The challenges and opportunities of AI, Crisis Communication.
- We are planning to host a Communication Administrators’ lunch again and I am seeking some folks who might do brief presentations and then have networking happen at the tables after brief presentations. Based on member feedback in Pittsburgh, I would like to organize the lunch presenters around this theme: Leadership Development/Building a Bench. I think this topic aligns nicely with the conference theme of Full Circle. Presenters could talk about how you became a communication administrator- who encouraged, supported or mentored you and how? How do you continually develop yourself as a leader? How do you engage in mentoring of other leaders? How do you create or connect people to leadership opportunities? If you would like to give a brief remarks on one of these areas or any other facets of leadership development during the luncheon, please email me at brittll@jmu.edu.
