ECA 2021 Convention - Community College Interest Group Call for Submissions

Call for Papers

Eastern Communication Association 112th Annual Convention
Hyatt Regency Cambridge
March 24 – March 28, 2021

Community College Interest Group
Submission Deadline: October 15, 2020 11:59PM EDT

The Community College Interest Group invites completed papers, panels, and round table discussions that focus on the convention theme of Resilience. Resilience can be thought of as our ability to adapt, recover, or “bounce back” in the face of adversity. Our country and the larger global community are in the midst of a historical moment. The turbulence of present times offers us the opportunity to explore resilience, as individuals and larger communities, across communication contexts and the ways that we share, communicate, foster, initiate, understand, inspire, celebrate, critique, learn, and find hope in resilience.

In keeping with the theme of Resilience, we invite you to consider a submission that addresses the opportunities we have to adapt our communication studies pedagogy, service, research, and/or practice as we respond to the dynamic challenges of our current culture. Additionally, how might our discipline inform our ability to nurture resilience in community college students? Last, what are communicative challenges of building resilience, as individuals and communities, and how do we meet those challenges?

The Community College Interest Group at ECA utilizes Attendee Interactive for all submissions and blind-reviews. Upload your submission (completed paper, panel, and round table discussion) at the following site: https://ecasite.org/aws/ECA/pt/sp/convention_attendee_interactive
