Many students report a fear of public speaking and low levels in confidence and ability to effectively communicate in front of an audience. While there is myriad research assessing public speaking and communication apprehension issues, join this roundtable discussion to hear the surprising student survey results regarding students' self-perception of public speaking skills and confidence levels based on the chosen course modality.(in-person, synchronous, asynchronous, hybrid). Share your experiences with teaching public speaking classes in a variety of modalities. How does technology impact public speaking pedagogy, assessment and student self-perception?
